  1.  A lot of people have forgotten exactly what the advantages of purchasing or
  2.  using  floppy based titles!  The most lightly reason for this is because of
  3.  CD-ROM  becoming  so popular now days, also because of the reduced price of
  4.  modems  and  easy access to the internet etc.  The point is however, floppy
  5.  disks have some huge advantaged that are often not recognised:-
  6.  
  7.     1. Little auto boot beauties.  Anyone and everyone with an
  8.        Amiga can appreciate your work!  How many people have
  9.        floppy drives?
  10.  
  11.     2. Many authors, and general users alike, do not like the
  12.        internet as a means of publication.  This is mainly
  13.        because there is a complete lack of selectivity, and
  14.        any old rubbish gets included on an FTP sight (such as
  15.        Aminet).  The same often applies to CD-ROMs etc.
  16.  
  17.     3. You can compile your own collections on to disk Thus
  18.        people can enjoy a disk the way the YOU, the user, want
  19.        it to be!  Why should you have to use a CD-ROM that has
  20.        been designed and compiled in a way designed by someone
  21.        else?

  23.     4. You can easily copy them.  As they are Public Domain
  24.        titles, it's perfectly legal to give them to your
  25.        friends etc.

  27.     5. Gain fame!  If you want to make contact with other
  28.        users compiling a PD floppy disk can be a really good
  29.        way of making new Amiga contacts.  One guy gets hold of
  30.        a copy, he gives a copy to his/her friends, someone
  31.        buys a copy from a PD library etc.  People see you are
  32.        the one who compiled the thing, and then they all get
  33.        in contact with you!  You might even get a mention on
  34.        the credits of our next library CD!
  35.  
  36.     6. No more searching for that title on your huge CD
  37.        collections, often full of software you will probably
  38.        never use!  Simply pick out the disk which YOU
  39.        originally decided to included in your collection, and
  40.        that YOU find is useful!
  41.  
  42.     7. If you use things like NDOS loaders in your
  43.        productions.  You can keep your title unique.  No FTP
  44.        sight should dictate how YOU, THE CODER, MUST upload
  45.        your work in a particular file format, that is less
  46.        powerful than you are capable of programming!!

  48.     8. Some may say that this is the same with FTP sights,
  49.        but the point is, anyone can compile a disk, you do
  50.        not need to be a programer to compile utilities,
  51.        games, intros etc.  If you do not beleve me take a
  52.        look at disks such as:-

  54.         SAMMY THE DOG CLI UTILS
  55.         The VARK CLI SERIES
  56.         The QUARTZ INTRO PACKS
  57.         The QPD GOOD STUFF SERIES.
  58.         The UTILITIS STASH, GAMES STASH etc.
  59.         The ROBS HOT STASH SERIES.
  60.         And lets not forget the superb LSD TNG disks.

  62.     9. If you send in stuff to Quartz PD, you can be sure to
  63.        receive software back in return.  You may even get a
  64.        free copy of one of our Quartz PD CD-ROMs etc.

  66.  It  is  important  that we get some submissions, or otherwise we will close
  67.  down  the  library, thus another Amiga developer goes down the pan!!!  Also
  68.  it would be 10 years of high quality software archives down the drain!
